Children will come to school at their regular time (drop off in their normal classroom), and families can join us in the Sanctuary for the program times listed above (enter at the front of the building, door 1). There will be seating in the open pews in the Sanctuary, as well as in the balcony above. The program will start at the times listed above for each class, so please arrive on time. The entire program lasts approximately 75-90 minutes, and then students will be dismissed to their families. Please plan to stay for the duration of the program.
There is no dress code for program participants, but we suggest “Picture-Day” attire.
Ms. Mandy’s Classes and Ms. Ginny’s M-F PM Class will meet on their regular schedule on Wednesday, May 20th.
Kindergarten will meet from 12:15-2:45 (early dismissal) on Thursday, May 21st.
Friday, May 22nd is the End of Year Celebration at Forest Field Park for all from 11am-1pm (no classes in session).

A combination of Preschool Teachers and Helpers will care for your children. The night will consist of free play, a pizza dinner, and a project or activity.
Please return forms and fees to the Preschool office by May 1st to reserve a spot for your children. Pajama night! Your children can come dressed in their pajamas, and may bring a small pillow or stuffed toy. Please bring a bag with any diapering necessities. This event is open to children have had their second birthday and up (schoolagers welcome)- AGSP enrollees, siblings, and friends!

A Great Start Preschool’s Annual Teacher Appreciation Week will be held May 4-8, 2026. Our Parent Group would like to present each of our staff members with a gift bag full of goodies. If you would like to contribute, please enclose cash or a check payable to A Great Start Preschool in the enclosed envelope marked “Teacher Appreciation Week” and return it to the preschool office by April 29th. (Venmo @agreatstartpreschool or paypal aGreatStart@aol.com is okay too, just make sure to specify in the memo). Gift Cards and candy donations are also accepted! These contributions will be distributed equally among the teachers, aides, and floaters. Our substitutes and extra-curricular instructors will also be recognized. All donations are appreciated!

The event is open to all students and their families. All ages may attend, but the cost is $6 per person for ages 2 and up.
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.
When is Preschool Prom: Friday, April 24th, 2026, from 6:30-8:00pm. RAIN OR SHINE!
Where is Preschool Prom: Here at the school! Depending on the weather, we plan to have activities in the picnic shelter and in the gym (and in the parking lot space in between) like in previous years. There will be a DJ with dancing, a couple kids art activities, and several photo prop stations to take your own pictures. We will also have two food trucks parked outside. By popular request, Cloudy Days Home of the Specialty Cotton Candy, Cinn-Wagon, and Show Dogs Hotdogs will be back. Even though the event starts at 6:30, we requested the food trucks be ready at 6. (Please note, no food will be allowed in the gym).
Who can come: Everyone! Yes, you can invite your extended family and friends, but please RSVP to let us know how many are attending. The event is called Preschool Prom but is for ALL of our students and staff and their families! Please return the RSVP even if you do not plan to attend.
Cost: Tickets are $6.00 per person for ages 2 and up. (All ages may attend, but infants under 2 are free). Sorry, no refunds. You can pay by cash, check payable to A Great Start Preschool, credit card in the office or call by phone, venmo @agreatstartpreschool, or paypal aGreatStart@aol.com. You can also add the amount to your tuition payment.
What will we do at Prom? We have a great DJ (Tunes Tony) to play music for dancing all night long (well, from 6:30-8:00 that is), photo stations for you to take your own photos with your phone or camera, kids art activities, our playground will be open if the weather cooperates and we will have a 50/50 raffle- Tickets $5 each- Drawing at 7:30pm and winner will split the pot! We will also have 3 food trucks on site that you can purchase delicious food from (Cinn Wagon, Show Dogs, and Cloudy Days Home of the Specialty Cotton Candy) to be eaten outside or taken home (with lots of baby wipes on hand to clean hands/face after!):

What should we wear? Some guests will wear "Prom Attire"- dresses and suits, and some will wear jeans and tshirts, some may wear princess and superhero costumes, some may wear "sunday best" or "picture day" outfits. Wear whatever you feel is comfortable for you!
How can I help? We will need help setting up and cleaning up! Help is needed:

What will the funds raised be used for? Playground Improvements! All funds raised will go toward enhancing our outdoor play spaces this summer. Our playground climber will be staying, but we plan to add additional equipment and activities to replace the current kitchen area with something more functional and developmentally engaging (that will help prevent mulch from being dug up and poured into the play sink). We’re excited to create an improved space that supports creativity, problem-solving, and active play for all of our students.

Our class is excited to read with Scholastic Book Clubs! It’s a great way to build your child’s book collection at home and help them improve their reading skills. When you shop with Scholastic Book Clubs, your orders earn points we can redeem for books and other classroom supplies.
Here’s how it works: We’ll send home flyers like these periodically throughout the year. If you decide to place an order, you do it through our class ordering page. Your books will arrive at school about 10 days after I submit our classroom order after the due date.
When you place an order, please use the class code GVJLC or school name, not the teachers name unless otherwise instructed.
Please make sure to include your child’s first and last name (or as much space as you can fill in!) so we can make sure the order goes home in the correct student’s backpack.

Our Parent Connection Group is a casual, welcoming space where parents can make a meaningful impact—without a huge time commitment.
We meet in the evenings for about 60–90 minutes, a few times throughout the school year.
Whether you come to one meeting or all of them, your presence and input are valued!
This group works behind the scenes on school-wide initiatives like:

· Coordinating Teacher & Staff Appreciation efforts
· Discussing school procedures and sharing feedback as needed

*If you would like to volunteer for 1 hour to help with the craft, snack, and exchange, please speak to your child’s teacher (and she will let you know what time help is needed). Only one volunteer per class is needed, and volunteers must have a clear background check on file.
