Blessing of the Backpack Service begins at 10am in the Church Sanctuary (Front of building, door 1).  Students are welcome to bring their backpacks.  Immediately following the service (approx 11am), the CFC (also known as preschool gym) will be open for Food and Games (while supplies last) and the Preschool will be Open for self-guided tours.  Feel free to come to the Service (10am) and/or Cookout/Open House (11am) as your schedule allows.  This event is optional.

"Fall Fling & Blessing of the Backpacks - August 26, 2018 - 10:00am - 
Southminster’s annual Blessing of the Backpacks & Fall Fling Picnic will be held in the Southminster Sanctuary, CFC, Pavilion,  &  “A Great Start Preschool” facility

Join us as we honor and bless students and teachers at this important time of year.

As students young and old start journeys in search of knowledge and wisdom, may God’s Blessings help them find new beginnings and fresh starts.

The day will start with Worship and the children’s Blessings in the Sanctuary at 10:00am, followed by a Picnic Lunch in the CFC/Pavilion, Games on the lawn next to the pavilion and an opportunity to tour “A Great Start Preschool”.  Not all of the preschool staff will be in attendance, but the rooms will be open for families to visit for a self-guided tour. 

WORSHIP, FOOD, FUN, FELLOWSHIP are all provided.  Don’t miss this event. "
